Attorney Daniel P. Hunsberger concentrates his practice in employment and labor law, including worker’s compensation and unemployment compensation. Attorney Hunsberger has extensive experience representing labor unions and their members in negotiating collective bargaining agreements with both public and private employers. In addition, he represents unions and their members during grievance and prohibited practices arbitration hearings and has served on numerous contract arbitration panels as an arbitrator.

 

Attorney Hunsberger is admitted to practice before the State and Federal courts of Connecticut and the Supreme Court of the United States. Attorney Hunsberger represents clients before the Equal Employment Opportunities Commission (EEOC), the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO), Department of Labor Unemployment Compensation Division, Connecticut State Board of Mediation and Arbitration, Connecticut State Board of Labor Relations and the Freedom of Information Commission, as well as, numerous municipal boards and commissions.

 

Attorney Hunsberger’s article entitled “Freedom of Information and the Public Employee” was published in the January 22, 2007 edition of the Connecticut Law Tribune.

 

Attorney Hunsberger was the recipient of the 2007 Connecticut Law Tribune Inspiration Award.

 

Attorney Hunsberger is a retired Captain having served with the City of Stamford Fire Department for 39 years in various capacities including Director of Emergency Management and the Fire and EMS Supervisor in the City of Stamford’s 911 Emergency Communications Center.

 

Attorney Hunsberger is actively involved in his hometown, currently serving on the Town of Monroe’s Board of Police Commissioners and is Monroe’s member on Southwest Regional Communications Center (“CMED”) Board of Directors. In addition, Attorney Hunsberger served on Monroe’s Town Council and Board of Finance.  Attorney Hunsberger is also on the Board of Directors of the Police Commissioners Association of Connecticut. Attorney Hunsberger is an active member of the Miamogue Yacht Club serving as the club’s Judge Advocate.
